Emulsion production unit, fully automated with  PC/PLC based process control

1.1

SEP-INLINE 20 t/h bitumen emulsion plant

1 unit

Colloid mill with variable speed control and high speed feature providing the means for tuning the properties of the emulsion and expanding the range of bitumen that can be successfully emulsified. Capacity 15 - 25 t/h.

Dosage lines for:

  • Bitumen, 1500 – 15000 l/h
  • Water-phase, 1200 – 12000 l/h
  • Solvent, 265 – 2650 l/h
  • Emulsifier, 37 – 370 l/h
  • Acid, 30 – 300 l/h
  • Stabiliser, 15 – 150 l/h

Flow meters in all lines as well as pH meter in the water phase for best possible production accuracy.

Combined water heating emulsion cooling system saving energy by utilizing the heat of the outgoing emulsion to heat the in going cold water.

PC/PLC based control system featuring:

  • automated start up and shut down
  • automatic control and adjustment of all material dosage and water heating
  • alarm system connected to automatic shut down
  • comprehensive formulation library
  • Extensive recording of process events providing the necessary means for quality assured production.

Process equipment mounted on one integrated skid complete with all piping and cabling. Switch board and process computer free standing for erection in control room.

Extra dosage pump, 320 l/h capacity, for start-up water-phase waste recycling.  Automatic control via SEP control system.

CST-4 Chemical Tank Battery with two tanks for emulsifier, one for acid and one for stabiliser including heating elements and agitators for conditioning of the chemicals and further

Latex line, 210-850 l/h capacity, with eccentric screw (mono) type pump for handling shear sensitive fluids such as latex, complete with frequency controlled AC-motor, flow meter and pressure gauge. Injection into static mixer in emulsion line after cooler.  Automatic control via SEP control system

Excess water line for increased cooling capacity allowing cooling water in excess of the water going into the process to be passed through the heat exchanger. Includes increased water supply pump capacity and air operated flow control valve. Automatic control via the SEP control system

1.2.4

Automatic pressure control of the emulsion line pressure in cooler and mill, including air operated valve and pressure sensor. Automatic control via the SEP control system.

1.2.5

Dope line, 27-135 l/h capacity, with pump, frequency controlled motor, flow meter, pressure gauge and all piping.  Automatic dosage control via SEP control system.

1.3.1

Drum pump set for emulsifier, capacity; 170-190 l/min, 50 - 300 cSt, and acid, capacity; 40-60 l/min.

Electrical belt heater, 2X1000 W, for steel drums including insulation jacket.

Equipment kit for 50 m 3 horizontal bitumen tank including, 2 agitators for top mounting, 2 level switches for max and min level, temperature gauge, control box with on/off controls, motor starters and audible alarm.

Equipment kit for 50 m 3 vertical emulsion tank including, agitator for side mounting, level switch for min level, temperature gauge and control box with on/off control, motor starter and audible alarm.

Loading stations

 

Bitumen off loading station, 45 m 3 /h, including vane type pump, coupling, gear and AC motor mounted on a skid. Thermostatically controlled heat tracing, mineral wool insulation and metal cladding. 6 m flexible tube, DN 100, with quick coupling and valve. Electrical control box.

Emulsion loading station, 45 m 3 /h, including vane type pump, coupling, gear and AC motor mounted on a skid. Thermostatically controlled heat tracing, mineral wool insulation and metal cladding. 6 m flexible tube, DN 80 with quick coupling, valve and stand with balance. Electrical control box.
